Sugar manufacture involves an extensive range of complex processes and equipment. In the UK, the beet processing factories are a cross between a power plant, an agricultural processor, a chemical plant and a food factory.
As a science placement student within British Sugar, you will gain experience in what the business entails and use the knowledge that you have gained at University. You will gain a better understanding of how to use your skills to problem solve, present ideas to managers and influence important business decisions.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to learn and who will provide a valuable contribution within our business. The placement year is an opportunity for you and the business to learn from each other. You will be responsible for project work from early on in your placement. This experience is certain to help with your future career.
Please note that because of the nature of the work, it is essential that applicants for the position hold a full UK driving licence.
