Our UK sugar factories combine a power plant with agricultural processor, a chemical plant and a food factory, to produce over one million tonnes of sugar a year and many diverse co-products. There is an amazing range of complex engineering processes and equipment, which we are always looking to develop to the next level.
As a Mechanical Placement Student in British Sugar, you will be challenged with many real life engineering problems. You will use the engineering knowledge that you have learnt at University to problem solve, present ideas to managers and influence important business decisions.
It’s a steep learning curve, with responsibility from Day One of your placement. But you will get plenty of support including a personal mentor to make sure your time is both enjoyable and hugely rewarding – both in terms of your own personal development, and what you deliver to the business.
