Not Not Just Sugar British
Agriculture - harvester in beet field image
The grower base spreads out over 4500 farms which provide our four processing factories with more than 7 million tonnes of sugar beet to process on an annual basis. This gives rise to dynamic roles that change through the season. The delivered beet is converted into one of our many sugar products or may be processed into biofuels for inclusion into unleaded petrol.

From the start you will be given encouragement to succeed and the responsibility to undertake an active part within the business. Following completion of the training scheme, the role you will undertake is aligned to your skills profile and future development. A typical example would be the Area Manager role or alternatively a role within our R&D or Agricultural Communications teams.

Attributes

The Agricultural training scheme will build on the core agricultural, business or scientific skills you have gained at University. The scheme encompasses beet from field to factory and offers a job with real management team exposure from day one, involvement in the full sugar lifecycle - including seed drilling, growing and harvesting through to the supply chain logistics involved in delivering the beet to the factory at the right quality, time and volume to satisfy our operational demands.

A positive and self motivated approach will be essential, with strong interpersonal skills that enable you to adopt different communication styles to changing situations.

Requirements

  • You should ideally have a degree in Agriculture, Biological Sciences or a Business related discipline (HND applications will also be considered).
  • If you can demonstrate industrial work experience, whether as a placement or summer job, even better.

Training & Development

The training programme will give you grounding in all aspects of the business, with the opportunity to spend time in other departments such as operations, commercial and finance, as well as learning more about our links with sister companies such as Trident Feeds. The comprehensive training will cover technical, personal and professional development such as the BASIS and FACTS certificates.
Throughout your structured training period we will work closely with you on a 1 to 1 basis to unlock your potential, giving you the support you require to assist you in meeting our business and your personal goals.
